For your convenience, we offer on-site, state-of-the-art X-ray imaging in addition to magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computerized tomography (CT). Your provider may use one or more of these imaging technologies to help determine the source of your problem and find the right solution to get you back to living.  

About X-Ray Imaging 

What is an X-ray? 

An X-ray (radiograph) is a noninvasive medical test that helps our doctors diagnose and treat medical conditions. Imaging with X-rays involves exposing a part of the body to a small dose of ionizing radiation to produce pictures of the inside of the body. 

Are there any risks associated with radiation exposure of X-rays? 

At Nebraska Spine + Pain Center, our imaging staff takes special care during X-ray examinations to use the lowest radiation dose possible while producing the best images for your evaluation. We continually review and update the techniques used by our radiology professionals to comply with national and international radiology protection standards. 

Modern X-ray systems have very controlled X-ray beams and dose control methods to minimize stray (scatter) radiation. This ensures that those parts of a patient’s body not being imaged receive minimal radiation exposure. 

How long does a typical X-ray examination last? 

A typical X-ray examination itself is a painless procedure and lasts only 5 – 10 minutes. 

Your provider will order the appropriate imaging, and there is a possibility that your X-ray will be performed during your clinic visit.
